A Winter Wonderland of Swimming at Hillingdon, December 2016

A small but powerful squad of 8 Thame Swimming Club swimmers were in action over the weekend of 17th/18th December at the annual Hillingdon Winter L3 Meet.

Despite being the end of the year with Christmas just around the corner, the swimmers rose to the occasion and put in some great swims with PBs pretty much across the piece so well done to Rory Pridmore, Harry Block, Lucy Block, Ben Williams, Josh Williams, Douglas Birchall, Elliot Riley-Brown and Oscar North.

Kudos to Lucy Block for being the only girl swimmer for Thame across the weekend and for smashing her two backstroke races! Congrats also to Josh Williams for gaining our one (Bronze) medal of the weekend in the 50 Backstroke, going under 30 seconds for the first time and achieving a Regional accepted time too! Well done too to Oscar North for achieving a great 2.5 second PB in his 100 Fly.

Many thanks to Iain Phillips, Lucy North and Simon Haarburger for their fabulous coaching over the weekend.

So now all that is left for me to say for 2016 is Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year …here’s to health, happiness and fantastic swimming in 2017.

Marvellous Swimming at Maxwell Gala, December 2016

19 Thame Swimmers braved the cold and frosty mornings across 3rd/4th December to attend the Maxwell Swimming Club December Meet, under the guidance of Head Coach Ian Blyth. What a fantastic weekend of swimming with PBs being broken across the board and County Accepted & Consideration times being achieved too.

The team were amazing at cheering one another on during the race (and were thanked for cheering the Didcot swimmers too) … great team spirit and fantastic swimming … well done Thame!

Thank you to all the officials and team managers who gave up their time to support this gala and congratulations to Rachel Humphreys and Carol Gibbs for passing their J1 – fantastic news.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who achieved County times:

Well done to the following swimmers who won the following medals too:
