Thame Swimming Club operates a Masters training squad which trains at Thame Leisure Centre on Sunday from 18.00 –20.00
The training is primarily aimed at Masters, aged 18 and over, who want to train for competitive swimming on all four strokes, fitness or to improve their performance in the swimming section of a triathlon. Prospective Masters will be invited for a trial session and a coach’s assessment.
Club training fees are paid monthly, via standing order, on the 1st of the month.
The Masters fees are £26.00 per calendar month + a monthly membership fee + a monthly ASA fee. For full details refer to GENERAL DOCUMENTS section of this website.
WHAT KIT DO MASTERS SWIMMERS NEED?
Masters swimmers will need a non-transparent one-piece swimming costume/trunks and goggles (spares are a good idea).
A Thame Swimming Club hat and a Thame Swimming Club shirt would be recommended, although not essential unless you intend to compete in Amateur Swimming Association Masters competitions or other open galas.
Kit details can be found on this website under Club Kit.
As detailed on the website swimmers need basic training equipment:
- Kick Board
- Fins (please ask your coach whether long or short fins should be used)
- Hand Paddles
- Racing snorkel
- Drinks Bottle
- Wet bag to carry training kit
Swimmers will not be allowed to swim if they do not have a drink with them due to the dehydrating effects of training. Please NAME all your kit as it will be removed from the wet bag and placed poolside with all the other swimmers kit during training – things can get muddled.
Other equipment may be required as swimmers progress but the coach will advise when this equipment is necessary.
